Strength in the Toughest Times

Have you ever wondered why so many hard days come while being married verses easy days?  When you think you have gotten over a situation, come to realize that the situation is still day.  Why does it have to be so hard? There are some days where you just don't want to be bothered by anyone or anything, especially your husband.  No matter what he says, you just don't want to be bothered.

You go to the checking account and find there is no money in the bank because he went and used the bank card to buy something stupid.

He is still leaving his clothes and trash in the middle of the floor. You know he has done it because it's a trail of his work.

He raised his voice at you.  He didn't do what he said he was going to do.

Communicating with him is like talking to a brick wall.

He said the wrong thing that turned the conversation into an argument and it's being done in front of the kids.

He hit you. He cheated on you.

How do you overcome these tough situations? Can you overcome these situations? How do you look at the situation(s)?  Do you attack it as it attacks you and your marriage? Or do you pray about it and allow God to move that "mountain" out of your way? But how do you handle it with your spouse? Simple, talk "to" each other and not "at" each other. Sometimes talking it out can resolve the situation. Before you begin talking, pray with each other. You know you can build off of each other. Once you start talking to each other, you come up with a plan to make sure that whatever happen, doesn't happen any more.

Marriage is not easy but you can make it better. Things happen but it doesn't have to bring it down to a crumbling level. Somebody in the marriage has to be the strong one. It's hard but it can be you. Both parties have a lot to deal with in the marriage. Man - providing for his family. Woman - taking care of the family and the house.

Things that can help you stay strong:
  • Prayer
  • Continue to love on your spouse
  • Supportive groups (people that won't tell your business and that you trust wholeheartedly)
  • Reading Devotionals

The stronger you and your husband are together in the marriage, the tighter the bond is. Keep telling yourself that nothing can tear it down!

Until next time,
